Before you begin
This DIY Paper Flower course is perfect for anyone who enjoys making with their hands to create magical color blends and sculptural paper flowers that last.
Create a centerpiece, several small bundles or create your own focal point with paper flowers.
With 24 flowers to make, you'll want to set up a large space with proper ventilation, an area to dry petals, and a mindset that it will take several steps. I like to make these over the course of a few days!
If spraying, you need to build in an extra week of dry time. This allows the piece to dry completely and have a neutral smell.
You will learn:
How to batch cut ten roses and fourteen tulips.
How to mix alcohol inks.
How to properly wash and blend the inks on your petals.
How to form the petals after dying.
How to form centers for each paper flower variety.
How to glue the petals.
How to finish the petals with paper foliage.
How to arrange the flowers.
Here's what to do to get started.
Preview Supplies 1 and Supplies 2 and cross-check with your own supplies.
Purchase your supplies!
Inks are from Ranger Ink: Poppyfield, Lettuce, Sunshine Yellow and Wild Plum
Scissors and glue are on your own. I use these scissors, and this type of school glue, and a hot glue gun with glue sticks.
Gather your supplies, and give the gift of handmade beauty to yourself or a friend!
